Despite its apparent remoteness, Zermatt benefits from some of the best transport links of any Alpine ski resort – thanks to the (ruthless) efficiency of the Swiss transport network.
Access to the village is via the frequent shuttle train from Täsch, some 10 minutes or so down the valley and where cars are left in one of several car parks, the most convenient of which is the “Matterhorn terminal” adjoining the train station.
