Both Chalet Binna and Chalet Banja are specifically designed to accommodate wheelchair users and mobility impaired guests.
There is ramp access to the front door of both chalets and each has its own internal lift between floors.
In Chalet Binna, one of the bedrooms has a wet room with shower and WC designed to be accessible for wheelchair and handicapped users.
Wheelchair users in Zermatt
Zermatt is a well-designed for resort for wheelchair users, despite the steep mountains. The two most popular viewing spots in this resort – at Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn – are wheelchair accessible. The Rothorn cable car can also be used by people in wheelchairs.
Also popular with wheelchair users are the Zermatt Museum and, in summer, the Furiweg – a quiet path through the larch and pine trees between Furi and Zermatt.
The Furiweg is 4.9km long and travelling from 1865m at Furi down 347m to Zermatt at 1608m. Of course, in winter, the track is normally covered in snow, but in summer this is a smooth tarmac path that offers a peaceful stroll through the forest.
Wheelchair accessible restaurants in Zermatt
Although you can enjoy catering from our private chefs in your fully serviced chalet, there are also 33 different restaurants in resort that are wheelchair accessible for you to try. Just ask and we will book a table for you with our concierge service.
There are two large supermarkets in Zermatt, which are both wheelchair accessible.
